About me
Manta Jae is a Toronto based 11-member musical collective led by Jag, an Indian-Canadian singer, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer. The group combines traditional Indian music elements with modern sounds, aiming to create a transcendent experience. Their performances feature a blend of Indian classical music, Kirtan (devotional chanting), and Medicine Music, bringing a sense of community, healing, and spiritual connection.
Jag's unique background—rooted in both Indian heritage and Canadian culture—shapes the collective's distinctive musical style. The ensemble includes talented musicians from around the world, playing instruments such as harmonium, guitar, djembe, flute, bansuri (bamboo flute), world percussion, bass, and synthesizers. This diverse instrumentation enriches their performances, offering audiences a fusion of traditional and modern musical elements.
